US 301 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

altWoodruff & Sons, Inc. was recently selected as the contractor for the much-anticipated highway expansion and improvement project in the rapidly growing Parrish, FL area.  The project, which started in April 2009, includes widening 4.5 miles of U.S. 301 and adding turn lanes from the south end of Erie/Old Tampa Road to Rutland Road (CR 675), incorporating new storm water facilities, water mains, force mains, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, curb and gutter, signalization, and street lighting.  The dollar value of this project is over $21,000,000.00.  The length of time for the project is 600 days with scheduled completion in November 2010.

 

LAKEWOOD RANCH RECLAIMED WATER EXPANSION (PHASE 1 & 2)

Woodruff & Sons, Inc. contracted with Aqua Utilities Florida to construct the Lakewood Ranch Reclaimed Water Eastern Expansion (Phase 1 & 2).

altThe project included the installation of 4.5 miles of PVC pipeline part of which was directional drilled, as well as the rehabilitation of an existing pump station replacing all piping, pumps, and the motor control center.  All pipeline installation, direction boring, pump discharge piping, and pump skids were installed by Woodruff & Sons, Inc. personnel.

 

GOLDEN GATE PROJECT

Woodruff & Sons, Inc. contracted with the City of Sarasota to construct the Golden Gate Streetscape project.  Golden Gate Point is a 22 acre waterfront community located about one block from downtown Sarasota once owned by Circus Magnet John Ringling during the 1920's, and home to some of the most luxurious condominiums on the west coast of Florida.  altThe project included removal and replacement of all underground utilities, converting all aerial utilities to buried installation, new curb, concrete driveways, installing decorative clay paver bricks at road surface, new landscaping, and decorative hardscape appurtenances i.e. swings, mailboxes, and doggie comfort stations.

 TIDEWATER PRESERVE

One of WCI Communities, Inc.'s latest developments, "Tidewater Preserve", is located on the edge of the Manatee River in beautiful Bradenton, Florida. alt

63RD AVENUE BRIDGE

altWoodruff & Sons, Inc. was recently awarded the job to reconstruct an old and aging bridge located on 63rd Avenue East in Bradenton, Florida.  Manatee  County awarded the job to Woodruff & Sons, Inc. to remove and replace the existing bridge and to upgrade the existing water and storm sewer infrastructure.  The construction of the new bridge will also allow for the future widening for 63rd Avenue East.
